"My husband and I stayed at Almond Beach Village from June 18 - June 21st. It was a short stay as we just needed a little get away. We had a fantastic time! Although the resort is under-going extensive renovations it didn't affect our stay what so ever. The beach is beautiful. Rocky in parts but there is a spot where you can swim where it is sandy - just ask the Lifeguard. The restaurants were very good. More pools then you can ask for. Not huge like some other resorts - which we prefer. less time spent walking. We had NO trouble finding chairs on the beach or at the pool at anytime of day! Unlke some other larger Caribbean destinations. I would recommend this resort, and booking with escapes to anyone! Jenn"

"The food, drink, water sports and service at the Almond Beach Village (ABV) were excellent. The a la carte dining with no limitation on how many times you booked at each restaurant was a nice change from other resorts. They're a bit stuffy when it comes to how you dress though and enforce the requirement for men to wear slacks and a shirt with a collar (i.e., no t-shirts) at the evening meal.
Unfortunately, the resort is really showing its age in spite of recent (and ongoing!) renovations. Housekeeping is also spotty. When we complained about the build-up of crud around the toilet and tub upon arrival in our freshly made up room, they reluctantly agree to moved us. But it was to a smaller room. Their argument was that it was the best they could offer unless we wanted to pay an extra $120 per night (later reduced to $80 per night and rejected). It's just not worth the money.... particularly when we had already paid for an upgrade to a "Deluxe" room.
Several other guests we spoke with also encountered problems with their accommodation and none was entirely satisfied with the outcome. One couple left the resort all together."

"The hotel really needs updating done. The staff at the hotel were extremely rude. My husband and I would never go back! It was our honeymoon and we were really disappointed with the service, staff, the room and the hotel appearance. It was not worth our $5400 that we spent. "
