"Hotel & food good, flight good, vacation good. Hated the airport delays in Ottawa & Cuba. In Cuba it took more than 3 hours to go through all the check-in, departure tax & Immigration line ups. Caios everywhere................."

"Arenas Blancas is an older hotel in the village of Varadero near calle 62 a popular nigh spot. The hotel is very clean and the food was GREAT! It is near Josone park a very nice place to take children to see the animals or to have a great lobster dinner in a romantic setting in the evening. The service at the hotel was very good and they listened to complaints and acted on them quickly. The servers were very friendly and had your food and drinks promptly. The nightly entertainment was great but ended at about 10:00 so after that you just went down the street. They accommodate children. Everyone in our party had a great time ."

"This hotel is a little run down more like a 2 1/2 star. Overall good location, beach and pool excellent, entertainment average. Buffet: i hope your not a picky eater the same items everyday with about 9 hot items. Rooms need some paint but acceptable, even get CTV Edmonton channel 33. Mini fridge only stocked on arrival, Hot water warm at best.
People great and tourists frendly. Had nothing stolen from my room. Only dissapointment was on last night when 15 young guys from Toronto showed up and took over control of the floor banging on doors at 5 am and partying loudly. Front desk did nothing about it."

"Remeber that Cuba is going through change now. 2 recent hurricaines wiped out much of the food suply. The black maket is shut down and people (Cubans) are feeling under the weather in comparrison of the norm. This hotel is what you make it. Good service is hard to come by anywhere these days. In our opinion it is ok, as for good eats here..go and meet "Mongdongo" the head chef at the International resteraunt. Our number one pick of hotels is still Palma Real across the street!"

"Arenas blancas hotel was a horrible experience our room was infested with terromites leavind grains from the wood all over our room. The maids stole from my girlfriend even after we gave her many items such as shampoo, hair clips, make up and many articles of clothing, when we reported the items missing the hotel public relations did absolutely nothing about it in fact became angry and denied everything. The public relations in Arenas blancas provided a useless service and acted in a manner which we were not use to by Cubans. "

"I just came back from Cuba and had a great time at this hotel. The staff is best group of people I have met on vacation. The hotel is nice and beach was great. The location is a 2 minute walk to the downtown club areas. If you're looking to go to a different beach party or club each night make sure you connect with Christian, Carina and Diana. They will get you to the happening spots each night. If you're looking for a fun and less expensive spot I would recommend it. "

"This was our second trip to Arenas Blancas. The hotel has a great location, a beautiful beach, and a fabulous staff. The food is not very good, but it is the same throughout Varadero. You can not travel to Cuba for the food, you go for the beaches, the friendly people, and the culture.

"If you are going here for $1,000 or under it is a great place. Grounds nice, pool clean and huge, beach nice, staff friendly, some services not up to par with other resorts such as frige not stocked every day, phone service was out, money not available one day but over all not a bad place at all. Typical same basic food every day. Lots of partying at night. Entertainment was pretty good. Overall not a bad place."
