"This is our 4th time at the Marina Palace and it continues to be a very good hotel. We believe the quality of the food may have slipped a little but that could also be the result of the hotel being completely full for Spring Break. The single feature that makes this hotel special is the staff and management. They are second to none. When you return to a hotel, it is so nice to be remembered by the people in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to people travelling to Varadero. Once again we booked our trip through Charity. She is very pleasant and makes all of our arrangements and travel a pleasure. She is truly a valuable member of your team. We will book through her again."

"$$$$ to upgrade to the Cayo Libertad and the basics of any resort were not supplied like toiletries and towels, airport transfers etc. Food was horrible, we had two twin beds pushed together instead of king bed. No ocean view, got sick and no toilet paper in room. Phoned several times to refill; no one came. Hotel staff would beg for money and clothing in washrooms. Did not pick us up for return flight back to Edmonton. Ended up scrambling and taking a cab to airport. This resort was suppose to be a 4.5. We have had better care in Super 8's. I think a 1 star rating is generous."

"The Sunwing flights were excellent there and back! The hotel was good; does need some updating, better cleaning etc. Despite what we had heard re the food, it was generally good at the buffet. Our Cuban dinner was a disaster from start to finish, but the Spanish one was good. The hotel reservation desk for the tours we took were great! All in all a "Great Escape"!"

"The hotel was very nice the service at this hotel was not good. There was a few people like Alfredo and Dinay in the buffet that were outstanding but for the most part, workers were grumpy, not polite and wouldn't aknowledge us even after tipping. The food wasn't too bad but always cold. The drinks were very good and no alcahol was spared. The hotel was very busy during our stay so I hope the service issue was due to this and being understaffed and not prepared. The beach is incrediable and the shows were above average. Our room ws kept very clean and our maid Aida was incrediable!"

"This was our first family trip and first trip to Cuba. I would not recommend the is Hotel to anyone! Advertise 2 Beer, 2 pop and 1 water stocked in fridge everyday and we got one of each. Also only got one bath towel to share between two of us and one day we had no towels! Beach towel exchange was limited as well. The lobby bar is extremely busy but they only have 2 people working there most of the time. Lots of waiting to get a drink. Plus I had a cleaning lady at night ask me for a dollar as she was mopping the theatre. REALLY???? My daughters had to stay in the own room because they were classified as adult, so I requested rooms beside each other when I booked 3 months ago and they put us on the bottom floor and them on the 3rd floor. "

"Courteous hotel staff. Some confusion around when to check-out. The maid cleared up what the front desk could not. Food was great and flavorful. Entertainment was great. Far (20Km) from the town of Varedareo so forget walking (we tried)."
