"Food was good, entertainment at night was excellent. This is a large resort so chances are you will be a distance from the beach or from the reception/entertainment area but not a problem because there are shuttles. Could be more shuttles."

"Travelled as a family and had an excellent stay -- the rooms were great, the food was good, and the staff were always helpful. From Toronto it's about a 4 hour flight, plus a ½ hour bus ride to the hotel. The hotel has huge grounds -- the rooms are in small villas, so it's quite spread out. There is always a trolley that takes you around the hotel, but most of the time we found it easier to walk. The suites are spacious and there's definitely enough room to fit 3 people in a room. Always make sure to put ALL of your valuables in the safe -- we left a small camera in one of the drawers and had it stolen. The staff took it quite seriously though, and helped us try to find it. What wasn't so great during our stay was the beach -- the sand was great, but there was always lots of seaweed floating in the water -- which made swimming a bit unattractive. The food was is quite good, but the speed of the service could be a little better. There are 7 a la carte restaurants -- and 2 buffets, plus a snack bar. We generally preferred to eat in the main buffet -- it was way faster, and there's plenty of choice. Overall we would recommend this hotel best either for couples, or for families without small children; the hotel has huge grounds -- and the beach/pool can be a long walk from your room."

"Our stay at the Bavaro Princess was 70% good, 30% blah. Things that were great:
-our room. super clean, beautiful, great balcony, huge bathroom, clean sheets, free booze in the room, nice tv, bed kinda hard, but whatever.
-beach - it was awesome! one of the best beaches i've been been to. clear water, perfect sand, nice chairs and everything to use.
-pool was great, really clean and big. we also swam in the second, smaller pool closer to the lobby, it was nice and quiet and cooler then the bigger pool.
Things that were kinda ok, kinda crappy:
-the service. most workers were rude/not friendly. We just tried to not let it bother us, but it was annoying. We ordered room service a few times and were actually nervous to cause the ppl were so rude!!
-the food was just ok. We found stuff to eat every day, some of it was pretty standard, but it was good. The seafood place was amazing, but the service was AWFUL. The Chopin rest. was a horrible buffet. El Groucho was good for lunch and the La Hisponila was our fave.
-Super annoying beach aerobics every morning on the beach with super loud music, but we just tried to tune it out.
All in all, we had a good vacation. Would not stay there again. The resort was too big, but the room and beach were great and that's what we wanted! "

"My family and I stayed at the Bavaro Princess. We had a great time. The restaurants and food was very good. Alot of varieties. The entertainment on the beach and at night was good as well. The workers are very friendly and are willing to help. The staff on the pool and beach side are very funny and entertaining. Basically to me this trip was great. I do recommend this hotel..."

"The resort has beautiful surroundings, many tropical trees and flowers, which help cool down the heat and humidity. The transportation service (trolleys) is good and well organized. The only problem is that, there are a lot of mosquitoes at night time. The Chopin Restaurant is situated in the middle of a pond that needs to be cleaned up because the water is dirty and infested with mosquitoes. The restaurant is nice looking but we could not enjoy the dinner because the mosquitoes were attacking us like maniacs from head to toes even we had sprayed some mosquitoes repellent.
Our room was finally ok after so much trouble we had to go through. We had to switch to the other room. We were given the room that was smelly, the ceiling fan was shaking up to almost falling down to the floor. Our suite kitchen sink had stains and spills the maids were sent down to clean but did not know how to scrub (very strange, they need to be trained on how to do cleaning) but sprayed and the mess was still there. We then never touched the kitchen once because of the problem. There was no iron and the iron board was covered with black moss. We asked for a new one and two different maids came with one iron and two iron boards. (hahaha) For those who speak Spanish have better advantage with communication with the people there.
The service in the restaurant is good. Servers are fast and friendly. Beach and pool are nice. Although we had few problems but considering how hard those people there work to keep up the service. (most people there work 10- 12 hours a day) We will come back to visit the country again. We feel sympathy and compassion for the workers. After all, the money is just money but what truly counts is that the vacation gave us insight into the others lives in a different society."

"We were 8 adults and a kid. In the first day we didn't have hot water at all. In the last day we didn't have the air conditioning. The hamburger at McPrincess on the beach was like a poison for my stomach. The food at the buffet is poor maybe 1/3 of the food varieties then other 4 star resorts.
In one evening we had to set up our table. No forks, knives, napkins, glasses there. At the a la carte they many times forget parts of the orders. Only a few things were ok: the beach, water, (Pescador, Sakura Restaurant) and the Casino were great. The service is absolutely miserable. I would quote this resort to maximum 2 1/2 stars instead 5 like they say so. The most of the personal speak only Spanish, when you ask for something they answer you very short: “No towels, no Coco Loco", etc. This resort is not recommended, I’ll never return."
