"We chose this resort as I fell in love with the Seaside Serenade themed wedding designed by Martha Stewart. We also chose Beaches Negril as we had invited 3 sets of family with children, potentially attending. Our ceremony was beautiful, picture perfect as per the brochures. The wedding reception had many hiccups and the rest of our stay was just slightly above average. Two of our booked rooms had only one large king bed, we had paired friends and family that normally wouldn't have been sharing rooms nor beds. We brought this up with the front desk and had to do some re-arrangements with our family members and switched rooms amongst ourselves. We were situated in the Santa Cruz block and it was nice and quiet and close to all amenities.
With regards to the wedding, our guests were not contacted nor notified of where the wedding would take place onsite and what was to proceed prior to the start of the wedding at 3pm. Our menu was almost entirely wrong from appetizer to dessert. The entree was correct which was beef tenderloin but we were told we had to make one selection but there at site, our guests were given a choice between beef tenderloin and fish. We were requested by the onsite wedding coordinator the day before to confirm what allergies our guests had. We spoke to her that evening and notified her that our friend had an allergy to shellfish and the wedding coordinator said she would contact the chef but at the reception our friend was served shrimp as an appetizer and had to get up and leave. We had chosen crabcakes as the appetizer. The guest seating was incorrect, it was as if it was all placed randomly (bride was at one table and groom at another). We had submitted our guestlist 1 month prior to our departure. As we started to take our photos the wedding coordinator came to us and told us we did not notify her that there would be children at the wedding, so they made no seating arrangements for them. Then the children were served chicken fingers and fries from the buffet because they weren't accounted for. This is uncalled for as the children were the first guests we paid for and we picked this resort because we had children attending. We had paid and were invoiced back in July, 2011 through the wedding planner. The meals were served and removed in a rush. The only thing I ate that night was the entree. Everything else was removed from my seating before I even got a chance to take a second bite this included our wedding cake and champagne for the toast.
We had gone over our song selections for the certificate signing (during the ceremony) and for the video with the onsite wedding coordinator however on the day of the wedding the song played was not the same song discussed. This was the same for the wedding video. We viewed and picked up the video our second last day, so we did not make an issue of it. As newly weds, we were offered breakfast in bed (to be served the morning after the wedding). It was scheduled from 8am to 8:30am and we were scheduled for 9am at the spa for a couples massage and 11am for the viewing and selection of our wedding photos. As our food did not arrive on time, we decided to call the front desk and ask them to connect us with the kitchen after a couple of tries the front desk just took our request to reschedule the breakfast. We were told by the front desk that our breakfast was late as staff were late due to road closures for the Reggae marathon held that day. So they rescheduled our breakfast in bed for another day but we were advised not to expect it exactly from 8am to 8:30 am but it would be arriving anywhere between 8am to 9:30am. No sooner than later our breakfast showed up at 8:50am, upon receipt of the meal we realized it was a meal sent for another newly wed couple mistakenly brought to our room. As a treat for ourselves, we had scheduled a candlelight dinner. It was listed on our welcoming letter for 6:30pm on Saturday night but when we went to concierge to look for our dinner location we were told it was scheduled for 7pm. Luckily, I had carried the letter with me at the time. In hindsight, maybe we as the bride and groom should have confirmed and re-confirmed more of the details at site such as going over the menu, seating, etc. The wedding too was scheduled tightly with our arrival onsite from Wednesday evening to Friday afternoon for the wedding so there wasn't too much time to catch errors. If I had to pinpoint the issues, it was more of mishandling of information from one person to another. We dealt with the wedding planners over the phone and then the wedding coordinator onsite. The site wedding coordinator seemed quite busy and preoccupied and much of the "misses" occurred here with no confirmation of the menu, seating arrangements, mento band hours and song selections. We really don't want to point fingers at anyone and maybe we should have been more diligently with the details ourselves. At the time, she seemed thorough as she had a list she went through but somehow information did not get relayed properly. We would really like to bring it up, as after discussion with friends and family we realized there were a lot of cumulated issues.
With about 5 sets of different families for our wedding, I think we would all agree that we would not return to the resort as we weigh in quality with price. And maybe other brides and grooms can learn from our mistakes. All that aside, our stay was slightly above average. The majority of their site staff are remarkably friendly and helpful. The resort itself is small, dated and requires upgrading and is clean but not spotless. The food is average, with limited selection and there is actually not enough Jamaican food served for anyone looking to taste local cuisine. What was nice was their inclusion of the water activities and sports, although it really has already been included in your purchase price. The lazy river is nice for young children. Our 2 biggest highlights would have to be that the 7 mile beach is pristene and amazing. The Seaside Serenade wedding is as advertised. We really enjoyed Jamaica, the people and the 7 mile beach but we will probably not return to this resort."

"I was there for my wedding and my first choice was Sandals but since we had family with children coming, we chose Beaches Negril since they are in the Sandals family. Overall the resort was ok, beach was great but the waterpark was smaller than they show in the pictures. The rooms were also fairly small but we had the beachfront honeymoon suite which was not much bigger than the deluxe seaside rooms. Since staying in a Sandal's before, we were slightly disappointed. The family really enjoyed all the amenities that the resort had to offer. The daily babysitting service was absolutely wonderful for the families that had children. I had a great wedding and the wedding consultant Andrea and the photographer A-Z were amazing. They made the best wedding for us and we really appreciated their help. There was a total of 27 of us there and I have to say that the workers sure were helpful and accomodating so it really made up for the small rooms since we were not in them much. This was a beautiful resort and I would recommend it to families and weddings with children. Had a great time and wish I was still there!!"

"From the time we landed at Montego Bay Airport and the airconditioned bus picked us up to take us to the resort, we were treated like royality. My daughter was married at the resort on the beach and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to. The wedding coordinator did a spectacular job and our whole family enjoyed this event to the utmost. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, helpful and always had a smile on their faces. The guestrooms were beautifully appointed, always very clean and the beds were comfortable too! My grandchildren (ages 10 and 5) loved the Sesame Street characters, enjoyed having breakfast with them and watching the shows they put on in the evening. They also participated in the day camp which is available for all age groups while the adults enjoyed a day at the beach or lounging around the pool. The waterslide was a big hit with my grandchildren and they even got Nana to go down it once! We were all impressed with the quality and diversity of the menus and restaurants and enjoyed American, Jamacian, Italian and Japanese cuisines. The resort's bars had high quality name brand liquor and wines and there was never a shortage. We thoroughly enjoyed the nightly entertainment so I can honestly say there was never a dull moment. I would definitely recommend this resort for family vacations and/or wedding vacations."
