"The location is great-far end of Varadero, but well connected to the rest of Varadero with a doulbe decker hop on/off for 5 pesos/day .Great sandy beach, palms for shade, good pool, enough chairs (new around the pool). I got it on sale in April to try this one as it was my 4th time in Varadero and 11th in Cuba. Some rooms are newly renovated, great beds, shower, good tv, tiny but private balcony, I had such a good rest. However, there was a lot of disco every night for young people to have fun. Food - well, average. as everywhere in Cuba, but lots of fresh fruit, some vegetarian I would recommend more variety and more tasty vegetarian dishes. I will go back, although the very last night I ate beef and drank water from the kitchen and got upset stomach all night. Better buy only bottled water from the onsite store and not eat meat, just in case. Everything else was great for me. Staff was helpful and respectful. Again- I liked it and will keep coming back in the future whenever it is on sale."

"Great resort for a family getaway. Only two major disappointments: the arrival time meant wasting most of the first day in the lobby while we waited for a room, with two toddlers; and the food in the buffet was bland and monotonous. For the most part the staff were great and helpful. Quiet location and great weather, made for a great family time. We stayed away from the tours electing to hire two taxis to drive the nine of us on our schedule to our destinations which turned out to be cheaper and we got to know the locals. We will definitely be return travelers but we will not book with Nolitours again if the flights are not better matched with a check in time."

"A most excellent time, pretty much right from the check in to check out we went for my buddies wedding as a group of 20 people, which incidentally, was awesome, as all of the staff and friends pulled together for a truly spectacular day. A true feat of a great beach wedding and party would be the 200 plus spectators which made it truly awe inspiring and an honor to be part of. Great food pretty much all day and night, with some kind of weird and different meals, that once tried were rather quite good, and some even addictive. Beach was a good hang out, and there were a few activities going on throughout the day, but honestly more couldnt have hurt. The main bar has moved upstairs where the piano bar is, which i have to say didnt sit right with me, but didnt change the good times that were had pounding back sambucca and singing with total strangers from all over the world. The puntarenas down side is its location, and that is pretty much it. We all had a great time, and really didnt want to leave so when we heard our plane was damaged on the way to varadero from canada, there was no heart break here. Anyhow, in a nutshell, being my third time here, it still packs a great punch but the fact that it is so far from all the activities of downtown really make me wonder is it always the best choice/ El Loco D"

"We love CUBA!! BUT we definately would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. Our room was infested with ants, it smelled of sewage, there was no hot water so we had to have cold showers every day, even with a baby, and there was mold on the walls and ceiling. The room was damp to the point that our clothes were damp when we put them on from the suitcase. The buffet was terrible. For breakfast it was ok as there was a pancake station, which were delicious, and an omlette station, lunches and dinners were inedible so we ate grilled cheese sandwiches at the beach bar every day, and went into town for restaurant dinners, which we didnt account for in our spending money :(
As our trip was during March break, we had two busloads of teens come from a trip called S-Trip. They had hardly any supervivion,as their "leaders" were only 20 years old< so they were drinking to the point of vomiting in the hallways, they cursed all day, even thoough there were families around with small children, they ran and screamed, swore, banged on doors until all hours of the night, made out to the point of sexual acts in the hallways... there wasnt enought hotel security to keep them under control. They littered the beach and hotel with cups, plates and straws. It was atrocious!
The beach was beautiful...besides the garbage. The waves were a lot of fun. It was a little shelly for my liking but not to the point that it hurt out feet. Just down the beach to the right the sand was very clean and soo soft.
The Cuban people were so friendly and the town was great. A lot of little flea market and great restaurants to try.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful....its just to bad the the hotel hasnt been maintained. The resort was definately NOT worth the money we spent.
I would advise you to only go to a resort that you know someone whom has personally been there. We read the reviews ppl left about this hotel and I was sorely disappointed!! I dont know how ANYONE could give it a good rating. :(
THE PHOTO IS NOT EVEN OF THE OUTSIDE OF THIS HOTEL"

"Wasn't expecting too much having been to Cuba before as it's not a place for "high end" vacations (nor is my budget). That said the 3.5* hotel was pretty good value for an all inclusive. The food seemed to improve over the week (or maybe my standards declined?), and the drinks were always "potent", so no complaints there. Nice beach too but always windy, which seemed to be characteristic of Varadero as we found out exploring the area a bit. Main compliant about hotel is too much loud 'musac' a lot of the time near pool or at beachside bar. There was also a disco that ran until 2am which you can hear in the background, but not enough to prevent sleep in our room anyways. I got the impression this hotel is geared more towards a younger party crowd, and indeed there were a couple of groups of twenty somethings having a hoot ! Being in my fifties I would choose a quieter resort next time..."

"Very clean rooms with pleasant and accommodating maids. Fun, entertaining bartenders with fast service. All agreed on activities available. Easy access to off resort activities. Beautiful clean beach with beach bar. Food basic but good. Not many tourists at this resort or other resorts in September."
