"My wife and I stayed at the Grand Palladium PC from Jan.16-23 and it was fabulous. We actually booked with Conquest Vacations and they were great. If they didn't fold I wouldn't hesitate booking with them again.
We flew Air Canada, Awesome flight.
This was our second trip to Punta Cana, first time to the Palladium. Our first trip was so-so (Occidental Allegro) on all aspects, especially the food.
We were nervous about the food but we were pleasantly surprised with the food at the main buffet. Because of our previous experience, when we discovered the food was exceptional at the main buffet, we were cool. We actually ate every meal there. The food was that good. I will say this though, next we plan to try the a la cartes.
The resort was awesome, very big but you could get around when you need too. If you stress over this, go to a smaller resort, remember you are on HOLIDAYS.
The beach is awesome. We got to a beach chair early everyday because it can be very busy. We walked or ran on it everyday. It is absolutely beautiful.
The weather was fantastic. Rained a little.
People, you are going to a third world country. It has its down sides The roads are terrible. The airport is cool, you will see what I mean when you get there. The rooms were outdated a little but manageable. It's tropical and its humid in case you don't know. You'll be fine
The people, they are unbelievable. They stop at nothing to help you. If read other reviews saying the people are not nice, think about this, your actions dictate how you are going to be treated. I realize it is your vacation and you have spent alot of money, but step back and be courteous it'll get you alot further.
We took an excursion to Santo Domingo. It was the first place Christopher Columbus landed in the new americas. You tour so many places with so much history in ! day. I am not a religious person but we stood in the first church built in the new americas. I was breathtaking.
To sum it up, go to this resort, you will not be disappointed. If you are, you are way to picky and you shouldn't travel too far from home. Enjoy your vacation and I want to hear about it.

"WATCH YOUR STEP !!
Food and utensils on the floor of the main buffet were causing holiday mishaps for people. Staff not very motivated at keeping restaurant clean, service was very slow. Rooms were very musty smelling and need some attention. Have stayed numerous times at the Palladium on the Mayan and there is no comparison. Don't waste your time with this one !!"

"Fantastic Beach!
My Husband and I went to The Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort and Spa in the first week of November 2008.
We arrived at the Airport at around 11:45am, the whole process of getting our luggage and boarding the shuttle to the Hotel took at max 45min, the bus ride form the Airport took about 35 min, we were entertained by a tour guide, so the bus ride didn't seem long at all.
When we arrived at the Resort we were greeted with a refreshing glass of fruit punch, it took about 20 min to get checked in and to receive our keys, we were then escorted to our rooms, by one of the bell boys. (just a quick note: the people in the Dominican work very hard for very little pay, every tip helps, please tip whenever possible, they truly appreciate it)
The rooms are comfortable, they are spacious, our fridge was stocked with water, beer and Pop, we had a nice view of the grounds from the balcony, we were in the Villa's ,4000 block, not too close to the beach, but a short walk to the biggest pool and one of the 4 incredible buffets.
Once we got settled we went to explore the grounds, which are absolutely breath taking, we got onto the train that takes you around all 3 resorts, it is the best, you can just sit back with a drink and take in all of the scenery, we met and made friends with a lot of people on the train.
We went on the Dune Buggy side trip on our 3rd day, I recommend going on the side trip towards the beginning of your trip, most of the side trips take all day, I spent the 2 days after sleeping on the beach, it was fun, but exhausting. It was everything we expected and more, my favorite part was the Macao Beach, stunning white sands and clear blue water, it actually took my breath away! you should take a good amount of money with you on the side trip, you get the opportunity to purchase a lot of souvenirs you cant get at the resort.
Back to the Resort:
The food is amazing, the buffets are very clean, as well as the restaurants, we had great experiences in both the buffets and the restaurants, my favorite was the 24hr sports bar, it's perfect on the day's you just feel like going straight from the beach to grabbing a quick bite, the pizza is amazing!
The disco is tons of fun, the animation team really work hard on trying to show everyone a good time, say Hi to Margarita and the crew, they were hilarious!
My only problem with the Resort is the smoking, there isn't any designated smoking areas, guests are free to smoke wherever, I had to leave the Disco one night because of the thick smoke in the air, I also hated the fact that people were smoking in your face on the train, without hesitation or consideration, but I guess that's not the Hotels fault it's the common courtesy of people.
Other than that, I would have to say the Resort is amazing, the staff go out of there way to make your trip memorable, I truly appreciate there hospitality and would return to this Hotel and The Dominican any day!

"Nice grounds and rooms very clean. Shower/tub was different and ended up having water everywhere. Staff friendly, especially if you asked them their name. It was very humid and our clothes since washing them still smell mildewy... so put some vinegar in your rinse cycle to freshen them. Would recommend this resort."

"Clean and spacious. The food was good and diverse. We appreciated the option of having house wine available and the restaurants had a respectable wine list to choose from at a reasonable cost. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed many of the activities the resort offered. We would recommend this resort. This resort is close to the airport and a short walk to the local village for shopping and banking. Beautifully laid out and landscaped. One of the nicest beaches I've visited."
