"The last review, I felt was a tad unfair. This is certainly not a Canada 2Star, but maybe a 1star. The food was bad, but it was because it was made with goat dairy products. There were several guests who complained of cockroaches and bedbugs, but our stay was good. No Problems here with the room. The food was better in the A'la carte restaurant. Food was served warm without the A/C blowing directly on it and turning it ice cold in a matter of seconds. The staff was good and pleasant. All in all, I would not hesitate to stay here again although the fact it is out of varadero enough that you need a taxi or the 1030am bus to get to town to see anything is a bit of a deterant. We will likely try more stars next year when we choose a hotel. The Cuban people as a whole are pretty fantastik people appearing to be unfazed with their near poverty lifestyle and appear quite content."

"How to put this nicely??? This was our 2nd trip to Cuba. Cuba is a beautiful country. But this Hotel and beach is not what their what the web page portrays & should not be advertised as a vacation spot. We found the rooms downright dirty, cockroaches, food was so bad we couldn't eat it. If you have seafood allergies, you cannot eat, everything has some sort of seafood. Not enough cutlery or dishes to service the diningroom, we drank coffee out of a soup bowl. We booked all inclusive, there was nothing all inclusive at this hotel, we had to pay for everything, but the cubans could come in and drink for free and we found the employees extremely rude. $5.00 for a bottle of water. One room key opens many doors, that is if your door locked at all. 6 dogs running freely around the hotel, sleeping on beach chairs, urinating whenever they happen to be and begging in the dining area, leave your food unattended the dogs will eat it. Do not leave any personal items unattended for any reason or staff will steal and you only get it back if you pay alot of cash. Workers coming in early for their shifts with their families to swim in a very dirty pool and take up the poolside chairs. Nightly entertainment was good. Beach is not sandy, but very rocky and strewn with alot of garbage and sharp cans, water is very rough. Ants in the bedding and they do sting you. Fumagating is done at night without warning or explanation for large amounts of smoke. Situation was so bad that after 2 nights our group of 9 people and 7 other couples paid cash to be upgraded and moved to another resort. Hotel was very rude to us upon departure. We had 5 teenage girls travelling with us and it was not safe to leave their side or they were harassed, they felt very unsafe. The cab drivers openly say the hotel should be bulldozed, it is a disgusting place."
