"This was our second time at this hotel. They have improved in many areas. The food is much much better. The room we were given was on the 3rd floor with an ocean view so we were very happy with that. The room was cleaned very promptly and we were given lots of what we needed (except we could have used 2 bottles of water a day rather than the one we were given). We bought water at the store on the resort. The maid gave us 2 bottles for a couple of days after we asked for it but that did not last for the complete stay so we simply paid the small amount to buy our extra. The beach is the "best" on the strip we think. The snorkelling off the beach was a surprise to us and we loved it. Last year we only started to snorkel and had gone out on the glass bottom boat and did not try the off shore snorkelling. Plus last year was very windy. This year the weather was perfect and no high wind days. We would return to this resort due to the value for the money."

"I have just been reading some of the reviews and i highly disagree with the negative comments,There were 3 of us and we were treated royally. The staff were all friendly, at the poolbar and lounge. We were never bothered by the gardeners, in fact they made us gifts and handed them to us. Our rooms were cleaned daily and our linens always fresh and clean, never waited in line for our meals, beaches had more than enough chairs, in fact staff set them in place for us and made sure they were wiped off for us, Beach bars opened daily and many activities were available, made many Cuban friends and i highly recommend this resort, we can't wait to return next year. We all feel that the negative reviews must have been for another resort, LOL"

"Ok, where can I possibly start. I traveled to this resort with my Father, Grandfather, and four family friends. Right off the bat they were more then accommodating when it came to getting my Grandfather a ground floor room. The group of us stayed for 2 weeks and it was incredible. The beach was absolutely amazing as was the walk along the boardwalk to get there. I was able to walk about 100 meters out in the ocean it was so shallow. The sand was so white it was positively blinding. Every morning the whole length of the beach was groomed to keep it looking amazing. Next I guess I would have to say that the food was the best I've ever had on vacation. The buffet selection and food was just a succulent as the a la carte restaurants. The price for the 2 weeks I stayed was far more then reasonable. Now then on to the important part, the staff. Oh my God, the staff was absolutely incredible.
From the buffet there was Eri Vasquez, she was such an amazing server, very friendly, ultra personable. There was also Louis Manuel and Aisel, they were the chefs who cooked eggs for breakfast and steak and fish for dinner. They were so friendly every morning and really made us feel welcome, and yes they were amazing cooks. Nipolito Amarante was a supervisor, he came over to our table every morning to make sure everything was going well with our stay, and he was hilarious to talk to. Very nice man! The groundskeeper in charge of our block was a man named Raul, he was the first staff member I met while there and he really set the tone for what the rest of the people there were like, very friendly. My maids name was Yaquelin, every afternoon she made sure the room was perfect, she even folded my clothes that I left on the floor, she was such a pleasant woman. At the swim-up bar I have to sing praises to Leonardo the bartender and Lixander the gentleman who fetched the drinks. Leonardo was a superb bartender and a nice man to talk to. We started talking about fishing and the next day he came in with photos of him fishing with his family. Lixander couldn't do enough for you while sitting around the pool. The lifeguards there were also very friendly. Next is the cigar bar. The two gentleman that work there are absolutely incredible. Felix and Freddy are their names. They are true entertainers as well as amazing flare bartenders. Across from the cigar bar is the steakhouse where we met Juan Carlo. Wow. After we got to know him reservations were not a problem. And what a comedian he was. I have absolutely no complaints there. And last but certainly not least was Lisdy Lopez. While we were there she was promoted from the buffet to the seafood restaurant and I can understand why. As well as being an amazing hostess, she was funny and would routinely walk around the table gently singing, what a voice. All in all I can say that the group of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I have already begun saving because I will be booking to go back to this resort in November!!!"

"william&carrollann
it would be a injustice for me to not let people know about this so called resort.the only thing good about this place is the beach. but service at the beach is very poor no chairs poor bar help, the cabins on the way to the beach look nice but it is very hard to stand the smell comming from the holding tanks at each cottage that leak into the water. the walk ways are very uneven and falling apart very unsafe. long lineups for dinner food cold very little veriety and service what service takes hour just to stand in line to book you dinners and when you go to dinner you have to wait. bedding in the rooms not clean and every time we went for a walk the grounds keepers were trying to sell something to us.the entertanment was third rate at best. the bars in the lobby were always out of drinks and the bartenders were very rude. and i am happy to say we will never ever go back to this place. "We had 3 rooms in this hotel on the week of Jan 22 to 29 2011. this hotel has been rated 4 stars, that should be rated 2 stars. I don't complain about the food because when you go to Cuba, you can't expect to get good food. At dinner time, getting to buffet restaurant there was a line up and we had to stand in line for a while to get a table, also when we had reservation at 8:00 p.m. for the A la carte restaurant they didn't let us to get in to our tables 15 minutes after 8:00 out side in the rain, and it took for the waiter half and hour to get our order at 8:45. The ground is un even with lots of holes and gaps and one of elderly crew had a fall on one of these gaps and broke her glasses. We had to spend $85 to get a taxi to take us to closest city to get her glasses. This hotel is not safe for children or elderly patrons due to the unevenness of the ground and poor lit pathways. I left my jacket on table and when I got back it was gone. I asked the hotel guest service but was not found. One of rooms was full of ants and we didn't get any bottled water except for the first day of the arrival, when we asked the maid, she told us they didn't have any. We had to walk all the way to bar to get water to take medicine. The hotel is advertised as a beach front resort, but you have to walk 10 minutes from the room location through the laguna to get to the beach and while walking through the laguna walkways on warm days it smells very bad on windy days you could not perceive this foul smell. The beach by itself was very good, clear water and soft white sand, but the bar and the boats were opened 2 days during our week stay. There were not enough chairs in beach and we had to put our towels on the ground to get a tan. Nightly entertainment was the worse we ever seen in this type of all inclusive resorts (twice a year through Signature vacations). Nightly entertainment was performed with the audience making guest do push-ups and silly stuff as collecting shoes from the the audience or kissing as many guest as they could. Only 2 nights out of 7 nights this place had a live band and dancers performing Cuban dance. Don't bother in bringing up your concerns with the guest service personnel, when our representative from Sunquest approached her and apologize for speaking among themselves in Spanish, she rudely stated to him in Spanish that he shouldn't be sorry after all we were the ones that should be accommodating to their culture. On our departure day, our Sunquest representative mentioned that management had confirmed with him they had sent a bottle of Cuban rum to our room but we never received anything.
This is one place we will not be going back to."
