"First of all they said theyd upgraded us, put us in a tower room rather than in the pyramid as we liked, and having stayed there before the room was identical so it definitely wasnt an upgrade. secondly the light in my bathroom broke and they took 11 hours to come fix it!!! complained and they offered a $25 food voucher!! Poor all round and definitely won't use the Luxor again."

"This was our 2nd visit to Vegas (previously stayed at the Rio) and it was handy to be right on the strip. We stayed in the pyramid (albeit lower level only), but the room was clean, comfy, spaceous, and recently renovated. Outdoor pool/patio was huge with comfy lounge chairs and good music. We are non smokers and dis-like any smoking in the casino, however the air quality was fairly good circulation, added vanilla scented freshener helps. As long as we were not right next to a smoker, it was ok. Unfortunately we both got sick (norovirus suspected) so only 2 of our 4 days vaction were enjoyable, while the other 2 were spent running to the toilet due to vomitting and diarreah. There was a well published large outbreak of norovirus at the Tropicanna Hotel in 2004, but it would seem that Vegas still battles this annoyance at a smaller level but more wide spread."

"The hotel was good. Especially the decor, which was artistic and of course, the Buffet was great. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner - all were superb. The best was the view, overlooking the strip and airport."

"The Luxor is our new hotel in Vegas. I can't say anything but perfect for a hotel. We loved it. We would have liked to stay in the pyramid room but were somehow in the tower. Westjet is the Best in the business. We had a great flight and the free tickets to Terry Fador were simply awesome. Thank You!"

"Our trip was offered through Westjet Vacations and the service was great. The airlines took good care of us as the flight attendants were entertaining and helpful. The showtime shuttle service to and from airport was also good and on time. The Luxor hotel and room was clean and smoke free. Gift show tickets was a bonus. When booking with Escapes we requested a room overlooking the strip which we did not get. When we checked in we were told we had reservations for two room which was not the case, but it was not a problem for us. Escapes.ca agents were very friendly and informative."

"In short, the lower end "pyramid" rooms are old and "tired". The decor is dated, walls scuffed, etc. Really old TVs. No phone books. No TV guide. Only 2 small glasses. No coffee maker.
The "slanted" windows are different. We looked over the pool area. On the positive side, maid cleaning services were adequate, the rooms are quiet and the air conditioning worked fine.
The electronic room keys are very unreliable at both your room and when using the "inclinators". In most hotels this is a quick "in and out". Not at Luxor - you had to leave them in 3 - 5 seconds (or so) before you could get the magic green light to come on. Getting one of the four inclinators up to the 9th floor was always a wait. Longer than in most hotels.
The inclinators (what passes as elevators) are also very old tired and "shaky" - getting them to work was always a challenge as the room key needed to be left in "just the right amount of time" before the inclinator would work. All guests faced this challenge and voiced complaints.
Reception - just plain inadequate - we were dropped off on the north side and had to traipse through the hotel casino with our luggage trying to find registration dodging "time share" folks. Then a very long line up - 45 mins to check in.
Food in the restaurants was average. We generally ate elsewhere. And - overall - we found the entire place dark.
We found the hostesses in the casino friendly and frequent. However, casino seemed stingy when compared to Excalibur and New York New York next door. So...... that's where we spent most of our time.
The pool area is huge and quite nice - however - the entire water area is only 3.5 ft deep. Good for kids I guess. Adult pools were not open.
so - not a winner for us - we have stayed at Planet Hollywood before - it is better and more central."

"We booked our Las Vegas trip from Escapes.ca and were provided with a full kit of information, e-tickets and vouchers for our 5 night stay at the Luxor Hotel. One thing we were not sure of was whether the Las Vegas resort tax was included in the price we had paid through Escapes.ca but we were happy to find out that indeed it was. This was our first trip to Las Vegas.
We arrived late at Las Vegas airport so we ended up having to take a taxi who dropped us of at the back of the hotel. So we had a bit of a confusing walk to get to the hotel reception. But what a fantastic place. Its is absolutely huge. But then again everything in Las Vegas is huge. Check in was very fast as we arrived late in the evening. The person checking us in said that there were only rooms on the second floor if we wanted to stay at the pyramid but that there were good rooms at the Towers. So we decided to stay at one of the Towers instead. The room we had was very large and the bathroom huge and everything in the hotel room clean and comfortable. An added bonus was that Internet was included in the price. The hotel itself has everything you could need. of course the slots and tables, several Starbucks (which was always busy), a great little diner that provided huge food portions and most amenities you'd expect in a large hotel. There is also a buffet which we used for breakfast before heading out. The swimming pools were great at well and all we had to do was show our hotel room card in order to get towels to use by the pool. While the hotel was great, as non smokers we found the lobby area to be a difficult place to walk through. But then again everybody seems to smoke in Las Vegas. One other thing that took was off guard were the people in the hotel who kept approaching us asking if we wanted to see a free show. This threw us for a loop at the beginning but we quickly found out that they were selling time shares. But this was not something we expected to see in the hotel. All in all a fine time indeed. We give the Luxor 4 stars."

"I loved the Luxor, it was great for everything. Very clean and spacious. The pool and spa were awesome. The only thing I didn't like was that it was at the end of the strip and not in the middle."
