"I have been to Cuba over 20 times in the last 22 years. Stayed in Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guilmero, Santa Clara.. This resort has everything for a family. Overall the resort is excellent, great food compared to other resorts. The buffet was average, but the Al la Cart was the best I have had to date. FIrst time I was able to eat the steaks in Cuba, they were as good as here in Toronto. The lobsters were stunning. All the food had flavor and I love my spices. The service was excellent in all of the restaurants, by the pool and on the beach. The workers spoke English. The people were very nice and friendly. The pool is massive and great because its like having your own private pool. Had the choice to be in the busy area by the Pool bar or quiet area. Beach was great as it is in all of cuba.. The rooms were clean and we also had the best maid to date."

"The hotel was clean, bright, friendly and helpful staff everywhere. I am not a fussy eater and have no allergies and I thought the food was very good. There was a lot of selection and I had heard there were limited choices in Varadero, but in our hotel in Holguin, there were many choices and the food was not bland. Beaches were great, life guards on duty on windy days, the pool was kept clean (although I have to wonder about the people at the swim up bar who never get out of the pool - they must have to go at some point!). There were lots of activities in the ocean like wind surfing, Hobie cat sailing, kayaking, paddle boating. The grounds are sprawling so there were buggies that went by frequently to pick you up. I would definitely return and try other 4-5 star resorts in Holguin as well. Many Germans and Great Britain visitors, as well as french Canadian. But no Americans so manners from most were fairly nice in dealing with the Cuban staff :-)"

"You know the billboards advertising Cuba that you see off the highway? The beach at Playa Pesquero really looks like that!! The beach here is a-ma-zing! The water is so clear it looks like it was poured from a bottle of drinking water. It is clear and blue and warm and calm and just perfect. There are trees growing on the beach which provide natural shade if you can't find a palapas to hide under. The sand is soft in parts and corally in others. You can literally walk into the water with your snorkelling gear and gaze at colourful fish right off shore. It is fantastic! You can also borrow pedal boats and Hobie Cats.
The resort itself is beautiful: the landscaping is lovely, the buildings comfortable. The pool is really nice, though we didn't spend too much time there.
The food is alright, especially if you are a big meat-eater. The only reason I rate the hotel 4/5 is because there were almost no fresh vegetables or fruits. Cucumbers and tomatoes were the only "salad" items available, though I did receive the biggest avocado I've ever seen when I asked for one! The fruit selection is miserable, too, and there are no fresh fruit juices made for you (thought there is plenty of orange juice). So that's the only part that wasn't perfect. The food at the a la carte restaurants was very, very good.
The coffee bar is excellent; the best cappuccinos anywhere!
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
We took an excursion to the dolphinarium where we swam with dolphins and then watched sea lion and dolphin shows: well worth the money, it was a highlight of our trip!
We loved our stay at Playa Pesquero! Highly recommended."

"The Playa Pesquero is a fantastic resort. We stayed there for two weeks with our two children. We loved getting to know many families from other countries. The pool is amazing. There's a great restaurant selection. My children loved the ice cream parlor. I did not fight with them if this is what they wanted to eat the most for their vacation. If you go with an open mind and enjoy the different options instead of looking for familiar items then there is so much to enjoy. The afternoon coffee in the main building with piano playing was very nice. The evening shows offered variety. The property is very large so be prepared to walk off some of the extra food you eat. The beach is nice but lounge chairs can be crowed and a little distance back to the beverage area. Other guests are not very polite with taking over the lounge chairs but this is no fault of the resort.

"The hotel was very nice, well kept and friendly staff. The biggest down fall was the nightly entertainment. The disco had alot of teenagers drinking. We as a group of 8 people found this very annoying. "

"Great place to vacation. First time in Cuba and plan to revisit another 2 times this year. The hotel is clean, well organized and a perfect location. The people that work at this resort are excellent, well dressed, well groomed and very nice people. My wife and I enjoyed their company and really appreciated their service, recommend "YES".
One point I would like to make is that when the tours are picking up people at the main entrance they display the tour and destination on the front of the bus, the day we took one there was some confusion. The tour lady, Martha, was great and funny, made the trip to Holguin lots of fun. Thanks to all the staff at the resort."

"This Hotel is amazing... it has everything that you could ever need on vacation. The beach is white sand and you can walk out sooo far and its all white sand. The food was even good... I heard bad stuff about the food but me and my fiance loved the food. Its a five star resort for sure."
