"We stayed here with our family over Xmas holidays. the staff are very friendly people. the accommodations were old but clean. the family building was a little noisy as people put their young children to bed then decided to party in the hallway. we did have to complain about the noise still going strong in the wee hours of the morning. the description of this place is a little off from what you really get. there is no teen club for children over 12yrs old. there are only a few golf clubs for mini golf. The security guard will lend you some clubs but he wants a dollar when you return them. no irons no coffee makers no internet in the rooms. The food was great, plenty to eat for everyones taste. did not do al la carte spots. the entertainment was not very good. we have been to several places in different countries and found the entertainment here the worst we have ever seen. they don't smile they seem so unhappy when they are trying to put on a show. Not much going on during the day for entertainment either. the beaches of course are beautiful in Punta Cana and that's the biggest attraction there. We would not stay at another princess chain, pay the extra hundred bucks and stay at the Barcelo.its really worth it. PS Only one ball two volleyball nets."

"After having gone through a few months of renovations this hotel was looking fresh. Furniture was still being replaced daily to areas such as the lobby and certain bars. We booked a family suite and other then it being dated we really have nothing bad to say about it.
Food was good, always fresh and plentiful, we did not go hungry or loose any weight! Although we did not use the "a la carte" restaurant, we did hear from other guests that they were good. We were always well served with the buffet.
The staff were great, always friendly and very helpful. The animation crew were also great and always respected the "no Gracia" when looking for people to join in their games.
The three pools were quite nice and clean. All of them offered something different (quiet, kid friendly or pool bar)
The beach...what can we say other then it was wonderful.
All in all we would recommend this hotel.

"We had a nice time at the Tropical Princess. It was a beautiful location and well maintained. The beach was wonderful and the pools were nice and warm. The food was good, we ate in the buffet (because there were 10 of us), there was lots of selection, and the presentation was always above par. Our accommodations were a nice size, we had family suites so there were two areas and two bathrooms. Of the three rooms we booked, ours was the only one with a few problems, bugs and a funny smell. We considered asking to change rooms but we didnÂ’t want to give up being close to everyone else."

"We were initially very disappointed with this resort. Our appointed room was 3206 on the Tropical side, and it was very dismal, to be polite. We were promised a new room the next day, so slept the first night in the dreary, dirty and dingy room that was buzzing with mosquitoes and crawling with ants. I expect mosquitoes and such in a tropical locale, but this was a little too much. Day 2 we were given an amazing room on the Caribe side, on the top floor, at no extra charge. Nor did it come fully equipped with mosquitoes and thousands of ants. This lightened all of our moods tremendously. We learned to always ensure we get a room on the top floor.
Buffet food was very good and we are not buffet eaters, but grew to really enjoy and look forward to each meal; always different items to select from, no excuse for going hungry here. We didn't try the a la carte restaurants as we were a group of 10 travelling with 4 children who were hungry and tired by 8pm daily. Yes, there were many things that were not stellar at this resort, but overall the staff was friendly, the grounds well maintained, the pools cleaner than most resorts and TONS of lounge chairs could be had at any pool and on the beach, any time of day. I can't say that I would recommend this resort to anyone, because there are much nicer resorts in Punta Cana, at much lower prices. However, if one was to get a great deal and not be too concerned with concrete hard mattresses, lack of dry beach towels, watered down drinks, then this may be a great destination. Great for young families as the pools, beach and buffet are very close to the rooms. "

"The Tropical Princess and Caribe Club Princess share the same property. I'd booked a "superior" room @ the Tropical Princess and spent the first night in a room @ the Caribe Club Princess. Arrived late at night so only determined this the next day. Took the usual back and forth ("come @ 2, come @ 3, come @4") at the front desk the next day to get moved to the room I'd paid for (slightly better than the Caribe). Other than asking to have the room fumigated (mosquitos @ night) and requesting they drill out the lock in the safe left by the previous guest, my week's stay was fine. Keep in mind that these situations crop up in some form or other at many all-inclusives. The buffet had average food - didn't try the a la cart restuarants as they are usually never very good. I'd recommend the property for families with children. "

"Very nice place to go to. Clean and comfortable. Pleasant, friendly people, very easy to communicate with. I definitely would spend my next vacation in the same hotel if I was anywhere else. I have only one "no": I have not seen even one Life guard along whole beach shore (30 min. of walking). It should be taken care of for the safety purposes. "

"The Tropical Princess is a nice resort. It is kept clean and the surroundings are very pretty. The beach is the best part! The sand is white and the water sparkles. The food at the resort was not bad. You can always find something to eat. We ate at the buffet everynight and liked what they served. The food by the beach that is served throughout the day was ok as well. The only complaint I have about this resort are the rooms. We had two small rooms that connected to each other. They didn't only smell like mildew (which we were able to get rid of after a couple of days), but there was also a sulfer smell that would come from the air conditioner at night. This didn't happen all the time and it didn't ruin our vacation. "
