"Our week stay was excellent...and relaxing. The food was very good...didnt expect that...food service people were very friendly....reception staff...well they were just that...but thats fine...clean rooms...pool area was clean and well looked after...no real complaints ..and we will certainly recommend it to our family and friends, as well as go back there in a heartbeat. I would certainly recommend the Havana excursion and cave tour as well but the caves are hard on anyone who has a heart condition ,as there are lots of stairs which isnt mentioned till you get there...very dificult!....but beautiful!"

"I am giving the average rating only because the location was very nice, facilities and pool nice, good food and service, great entertainment and people generally pleasant. However accommodation was poor at best. Arriving in the middle of night we were given a totally filthy and ants infested bungalow, instead of 4 star hotel room we were made to believe to be buying. Even the replacement bungalow that we got after refusing the first one was not much better. After a lots of arguing and tipping we got a decent room in the hotel, I'd say 2 stars. Air conditioning did not work, we were 2 days without towels and the rest with just two small hand towels only."

"Rooms and Villas - Little bit above average, clean, but not really good( old and some with hole on it- towels,,not new bed sheets,etc.. Beach- very good. Restaurant - very poor choice of food and not always good quality. Entertainment - not perfect, especially when you listening only Latino music all week thru... At the end we give maximum 3 stars. P.S. Most terrible was food...."

"This hotel was a little dated which didn't bother us however the doors didn't close right and there was a gap at the bottom which allowed quite a few little ants to come into our room. I managed to not let it ruin our trip as i just kept telling myself it was still better than camping. The only other thing which wasn't good was they only gave each room 1 large bottle of water upon arrival and then never restocked the mini fridge the rest of the week so we actually had to buy water to have in our rooms. The food however at the beach grill was actually really good and the buffet was nice also because it was indoors and didn't have any flies or bugs at all. The Hotel building itself was amazing! The main lobby was huge with this labyrinth of stairs and bridges and tons of plants and trees growing right inside the main building! Over all i would definitely go back to this resort again but i would pay a little extra to get a room in one of the smaller villas they have, which are much more updated with 120v power which is a bonus!"

"You get what you pay for. Service was horrible. The staff is not very friendly and doesn't seem to care. The rooms OK at best. Food was good but not a lot of choices. Beach is very nice. Swimming pool very small. Gym is a joke. Definitely not a 4 star (probably 3 - 3.5)."

"Shame on Escapes for rating this hotel 3.5 stars. This hotel is a 1 at best. Its a dump, ant infested, moldy rooms, horrible food, appaling service. I witnessed a lobby bar tender loading up an employees backpack with numerous bottles of rum. Hmmmm....In order to get toilet paper in our room we left money for the cleaning staff. No pesos no toilet paper. I am shocked at the price to vacation at this hotel. If I won a trip to this hotel I would not go, thats how horrible this place is. For the same price you can stay in a true 5 star. I'm not joking.

"The breakfasts were ok, other food was suspect, had quite a treat out under one of the grass huts were they served dinner, it turned out to be french fries as an orderve, sand ticks and mosquito bites a plenty, so get your malaria shots before you go, my wife was very ill for three weeks after the trip with countless bites on her back and necessitated a doctors visit.
2 kinds of beer, they serve the chitty stuff near the beach, you have to walk way back to the main hotel to get a lager, Labatt blue. Coffees were terrific with a European flare and maids were very friendly and accompanying. We went in late Jan. and the weather was miserable, so I say you roll the dice pre Feb-March time frame."

"The lobby was under construction but the admin station was adaquite. Very clean, and the staff was very friendly. Food was better than expected but not much variety. I heard that some of the other hotels had more selections. The beach was clean and monitored with security. Would go back to this resort. Will be very nice once all the reconstruction is finished."
