Our Opinion of Camaguey

If your ideal holiday includes beautiful beaches, diving sites, sport fishing then look no further. Camaguey is infused with an atmosphere of rest and relaxation rather than nightlife.

The provincial capital offers much history and splendour with its labyrinth urban sprawl. The surrounding areas display green hills and fauna, desert islands, and caverns to explore. Here you will find a well preserved ecosystem.

Santa Lucia Beach and Playa Los Cocos with its 21-kilometre strip of dazzling white sand, it is well known for the quality and variety of its diving sites.

Mangroves and everglades, flamingoes and roseate spoonbills, sun-bleached sand and turquoise waters make this little corner of paradise the perfect retreat.

The Sierra de Cubitas National Park impressive passes, the Las Mercedes caves and the Hoyo de Bonet, a kind of botanical garden 900 m deep.

A must also is the Petrified Forest of Najasa.
