"The Cote d'azur is gorgeous! You can linger for hours basking in the sun and enjoying the view. I guarantee you will try to capture the colour of the water with your camera from every angle. If you want to do some tanning on the beach, beware that it is made entirely of small rocks and pebbles. I recommend you bring some water-proof shoes and a blow up mat. But Nice offers much more than a beach vacation - the old city offers history and culture, and is scenic all on its own. The buildings lining the narrow streets are painted shades of Siena orange and yellow. Outside the wooden shades of the windows, the locals hang their laundry on short lines. On a rainy day check out the MAMAC - Musee d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporaine, just outside the old city. Admission is free, and you can see some timeless pieces of modern art among their permanent collection as well as any temporary exhibits. Food in Nice varies from traditional French restaurants, to local street-food specialties. Try the pissaladiere - a thin crust pizza with caramelized onions and anchovies, or the many gelato stands. Between the mix of French and Italian influences, nice is very nice!"
