Whitehouse Vacations

Whitehouse is a small fishing village about 4 km to the east of the area's only major resort, Sandals Whitehouse.

A visit to the fish market in Whitehouse is a must and it is best to be there early in the morning as the fishing boats arrive from their night time fishing.Take one of the roads north from Whitehouse up into the hills and experience the panoramic views of Parkers Bay.

Activities & Sports
Resort and beaches offer all water sport services. Negril offers beautiful coral reefs set in calm, clear waters. It is a real diver's paradise. Beginners looking for lessons should go to the Negril Scuba Centre which is one of the oldest dive operations in Jamaica.

Sailing or boating rides may lead to Booby Cay, a white limestone formation. Canoe trips go deep into the mysterious Negril Great Morass.

The Negril Hills Golf Club is an 18-hole course is located on the green hills and has spectacular views of the white sand beaches.

Thrill seekers will love the various activities that can be practised in this region such as sea kayaking, jungle river tubing, mountain biking along the coast, and parasailing.

Dining & Nightlife
Negril is a hip and happening scene, offering a wide range of options that includes: calypso beach barbecues like Alfred's; all-night dancing clubs such as Risky Business or the rauchy Hedonism II;and outdoor reggae concerts.

Rick's Cafe, located right of the coast, is a big favorite with locals and tourist. It is known for the pre-sunset entertainment where daredevil dives are done by local athletes from the 9 m cliff top.

Shopping
Time Square Mall is the new shopping center filled with shops for you souvenir list of crafts, perfumes, cigars, liquor and Blue Mountain coffee.

Shopping enthusiasts will not be disappointed with the busy Negril Crafts Market, consisting of a collection of shacks. Bring your bargaining skills.

Day Trips
Montego Bay - Come and explore the historical and colonial town of Montego Bay. It is the second largest city in the country and has countless landmarks to visit. Then go on a Mobay Submarine Dive where you can view the local marine life in partially glassed semi-submarine.

Ocho Rios - Visit the Dunn's River Falls and Park situated to the north side of Jamaica. Let the waters cascading down soothe you or climb the falls in human chains led by experienced fall guides. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the scenery.

Located beside the Black River, in beautiful Jamaican valleys, is the Appleton Rum Distillery. Since 1749 the Appleton Estate has been blending some of the finest rums in the world. You will learn about the distilling process from sugar cane, molasses, sugar, to wine and rum and then have a chance to savour these award-winning rums after the tour. Do stay sober enough to enjoy after the Black River wetlands afterwards.

Documents
A valid passport recommended for Canadian citizens but a certified birth certificate and government issues photo id accepted. Roundtrip or onward ticket required. All other nationalities please consult a vacation specialist or the Jamaican consulate. Passports are highly recommended.

Note: Some hotels require credit card imprint upon check-in for any incidental charges. Hotel check-in is typically between 3pm and 4pm. If your flight arrives early, it is a good idea to pack essential items in your carry-on luggage (i.e. bathing suit, suntan lotion, medications, etc.), so you do not miss any valuable vacation time.

The departure tax of around JA$1,000, per person, is usually included on your plane ticket but if not added it will be payable at the airport, please verify. Some restrictions apply to tourists 18 years & under, when travelling without parents.
